I love the rich and creamy sauce in this dish, and how tender and flavorful the cabbage becomes when it is cooked! If you wanted to transform this into a main dish, you could add some diced ham, corned beef, or even smoked sausage (I used kielbasa) to this dish right before baking.

this is excellent, tasty and even my kids like it...I braise pork chops then add to this dish as it bakes..chops are so tender and really flavors up the creamy cabbage..highly recommended....you can add chicken,ham, or bacon also...yummy
