I always save odds and ends of leftover bread in my freezer, and use them for either homemade croutons or for treats like this. Since you can assemble it and soak it overnight, I think It would be a fabulous thing to serve for my Christmas morning brunch! I usually do some sort of make - ahead savory breakfast casserole as well as something sweet for the holidays.

I've always liked bread puddings and this one looks like a special treat. We'll often get marked-down bread or rolls at our local Kroger to make up some bread pudding. This version looks absolutely wonderful. I think I might add some walnuts or peanuts to the cookie dough. I definitely want to give this one a try really soon. I love the chocolate drizzle, and I think some caramel drizzled on top would also be quite good.
