Creamy Swedish Meatball Pasta Bake
Creamy Swedish Meatball Pasta Bake is cheesy and hearty casserole that the whole family will love. Homemade meatballs are browned in a skillet before they are added to a scratch-made cheese sauce. While it takes extra time to make the homemade meatballs, the end result is well worth it. Gruyere cheese and heavy cream create the incredible cream sauce. Rigatoni or a similar pasta is added in with the sauce and meatballs. This hearty recipe for dinner would be wonderful served with your favorite vegetable or a side salad.

I have never used nutmeg or allspice in a meat recipe. I have only used it in pumpkin and squash ideas. Does it give the dish a cinnamon type flavor? I am just not a fan of that style meat. I might add something like rosemary or thyme instead if it is too close to cinnamon.

Since the meatballs are cooked up in the same skillet as the sauce, it really is important to use the lean ground beef here. Otherwise a lot of grease can end up in the pan and into your cream sauce. I love this method, since all the flavorful fond from the browning meat gets used in the sauce and not left behind on a baking sheet! Such a lovely dish!
