Tropical Dump Cake

We cannot use the tropical mix in our house or fruit salad due to allergies, so I was wondering what you would substitute? I was thinking using mandarin oranges and maraschino cherries along with the pineapple. Do you think this will still be a tropical style dessert if I only use the three ingredients?
