I know that this recipe calls for sour cream, but I was wondering if it were possible to swap this ingredient out for cream cheese. While I like sour cream in baked dishes, I prefer to use cream cheese. I love the taste and the texture it gives to sweet casseroles, cakes, and strudels. I am just not sure about the substitution. Thank you for posting a dreamy dessert like this one.

Hi SissieSass, I think you would be better off using something like Greek yogurt in place of the sour cream, but if you prefer cream cheese then I would suggest thinning it out with milk until it has a sour cream-like consistency and use that mixture for a one-to-one swap. --Kaitlin, AFCAS Editor

This recipe just screams summer party! I think I am going to have to try this for my Dad's birthday, we are throwing him a small family party in mine and my partners first home, it's the first time I am not in my old family home for it so we thought we would start a new tradition so hopefully this cake can be part of this tradition, especially seen as my Dad loves coconut and pineapple)
