I enjoy recipes like this that allow for the use of different ingredients that might be around the house. I was thinking this might be a great way to use some of the frozen meatballs we made up a while ago. The meatballs along with some Italian sausage would make for a great pasta dish. I could also see using some cheese tortellini as well in place of the penne pasta. We have a full shelf of different kinds of pasta and there are a number that would be good in this.
