Leslie's Mexican Casserole

Leslie's Mexican Casserole is not like all of the other Mexican casserole recipes. It has many of the same yummy components such as tortillas, ground beef, black beans, veggies and cheese but there is one thing that makes this casserole better: Leslie's secret ingredient. This ingredient is pasta sauce and it is a must-have for Mexican casserole lovers. I'll be honest. I had never thought of using pasta sauce for Mexican cooking, but it does make sense since there are a variety of pasta sauces that I wouldn't necessarily consider Italian-tasting. There are some chunky vegetable sauces that are worth giving a try. Also, when I make this, I think I'll try a mix of ground beef with chorizo. I've been pleased to find good quality chorizo readily available at local stores beside Hispanic markets.
