I made this the other night and it was a huge hit with the fam! The one thing I am going to change for next time is to brown the onions instead of cooking until transluscent! I think this may bring a little more flavor of onion - either way it was GOOD!

I adore cheese and been irish it goes without saying I love potatoes so these too combined is like a dream come though for me, I love potato gratin...would this dish be similar to this? I have seen cereal in main dishes before but have never tried it myself, does it end up going soggy??

Hi Catsitt, this dish is similar to potato gratin except for the fact that it uses shredded potatoes rather than sliced potatoes. The cereal doesn't get soggy and makes for a crispy topping. Enjoy! - Natalie, Editor of AllFreeCasseroleRecipes
